Ready to Adopt?
Meet our hopeful herd – a diverse group of rescued equines eagerly awaiting their forever homes. Each horse in our adoption program has a unique story and personality. We have diligently rehabilitated these incredible animals, addressing their physical and emotional needs to prepare them for their next chapter. By adopting one of these resilient survivors, you’re not just gaining a magnificent companion; you’re providing a second chance at life and freeing up resources for us to rescue more horses in need. Explore our available horses below and imagine the beautiful bond waiting to be formed.
Our Adoption Checklist
We strive to pair our rescue horses with forever homes that have at least some prior experience with horses to draw on.
Horses are herd animals and we want to ensure that you have a companion animal for your new rescue to associate with.
Horses here on the east coast require shelter from the occasional harsh weather and the summer sun so we want to see that you have adequate shelter available.
One very important thing we evaluate with your facility is the existence and condition of your fencing. We do not like to see barbed wire fencing for horses.
In general we like to see adopters have at least 1.5 acres per horse to ensure there is enough land to roam and exercise.
Having a good, reliable source of fresh, clean water is important. We evaluate all adopter properties for their capabilities to ensure a good water source for the horses.
Before you fill out our adoption application, take a look at this checklist to make sure you meet or exceed these requirements. These requirements help ensure you are a suitable adopter for one of our rescues.
If you weren’t able to answer, YES, to all of the items on the left, you may not be ready to adopt a rescue horse. Our primary goal is to find qualified forever homes for our rescue horses, so our adoption process is designed to ensure that each adoption applicant is prepared for the responsibilities associated with taking on a rescue horse. In addition to all of the normal things, adopting a rescue horse also requires compassion and empathy due to the often unknown history of the horse.
If you did answer YES to all of the above questions, we invite you to fill out our adoption application by clicking the link below.
